The Story of

Established in 1991, John started out as an apprentice aged 17 with a local carpet fitter, Bruce in his hometown of Kingsbury, North West London. John quickly picked the trade up and within a few years was working independently installing carpets and flooring across the United Kingdom. 

In 2001, John and his family moved to Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, and has since been working throughout Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire supplying and installing Carpets, Luxury Vinyl Tiles, Wood Flooring, Vinyls and Naturals.  John alongside his partner Tracey and son, Cameron have built a great reputation within Leighton Buzzard and surrounding areas.

During the late 2010's, John took it upon himself to invest in further education and merit within the flooring industry and participated in multiple courses under The Flooring Industry Training Association, FloorSkills and Karndean Design Flooring in the fields of Carpets and Luxury Vinyl Tiles, then going on to complete qualifications under the National Institute of Carpet and Floorlayers as a Master Fitter in Carpets. 

His ultimate achievement came in the form of winning the NICF United Kingdom Carpet Fitter of the Year competition in 2018. A highly sought after accolade within the flooring industry, after contending with entrants across the entirety of the United Kingdom, John came out on top. 

Since winning the competition,  John opened his first showroom in 2020 within Leighton Buzzard's North Street, and with fantastic growth, we have now opened our 240 square metre showroom within the heart of Leighton Buzzard's High Street. With hundreds of samples and display units showcasing the best that the flooring industry has to offer, from Carpets, Luxury Vinyl Tiles, Woods, Vinyls and more.

Many years of perseverance and education have formed the ideology that defines Carpets and Flooring by John Wright. We promise a quality service never taking shortcuts and providing the service that you deserve. We are a small family business and as such do not aim for fame and fortune, as many other flooring businesses fall victim to whilst their standards fall, our small but effective team accepts nothing but perfection. No job is too big or small, no budget too small, nothing truly impossible.
